| Rural
Health Care Clinic
Because
of the rapid changes in HIV/AIDS technology and treatment, it
is imperative that people living with HIV/AIDS have access to
specialized medical care. Studies have proven that people with
HIV who receive specialized health care have a better quality
of life and live longer.
The
Alliance has established a Rural Health Care Clinic to provide
people in northwest Pennsylvania with specialized HIV/AIDS health
care services. The Alliance has contracted with HIV/AIDS medical
specialists to travel throughout the region to provide medical
care to patients. The medical specialists are available to local
primary care physicians for consultation.
The
Alliance has a full-time nurse manager to assess health status
and coordinate patient care by phone and in a clinical setting.
Clinic services are free and confidential.
